Worcestershire Group of Advanced Motorists

Is your driving up to advanced driving standard?

Assess your knowledge here, using our multiple choice test.

Advanced driving, based on Roadcraft*, improves skills by increasing your awareness of factors that affect driving: your capabilities, your vehicle's, road and traffic conditions.

These questions are intended to give an insight into, or test your knowledge of, "Roadcraft", the Police Drivers' Handbook which is used as the basis for the IAM Advanced Driving Test. They are not intended to be taken out of context and used as a learning exercise. It has been found that drivers usually score less than 50% if the book has not been read first.

All drivers, whether qualified or not, are also recommended to try a mock version of the Driving Standards Agency on-screen L driver Theory Test (without the hazard perception tests) at www.dsa.gov.uk.

The Advanced Driving Test is based mainly on driving technique but road sign knowledge will be checked just after some signs have been passed. The Examiner may also ask any questions from The Highway Code and "Advanced Driving: how to be a better driver", but will not go too deeply into these.
