Worcestershire Group of Advanced Motorists

The Worcester Motor Show May 2007

The Worcester Motor Show has been a great success. Six people have signed up for membership at the discounted rate of £65 and there has been a large number of people that have said that they will apply soon.

We handed out over 250 Skill For Life leaflets before the supply ran out (my fault). There was a huge amount of interest from the public, including from an ex-police class-one driver (not you Bob) who lives outside the area - he will be contacting his local group to volunteer to become an examiner. There was also some interest in DriveCheck. I will update everyone in the next couple of weeks to give a final tally of people that signed-up as a result of the event.

The weather was, on the whole, dry with a few showers. Luckily, it wasn't too breezy and so our new gazebo stayed firmly on the ground.

I would like to thank everyone that helped with the stand today. You all did a superb, professional job of talking to the public. The event had a great atmosphere and made recruiting a highly enjoyable experience,  I look forward to attending the next event with you.

Many thanks to Sara Mathews for organizing the event, I hope that the Worcester Motor Show will become a regular occurrence.

Best wishes
Peter Cadogan; former Group Secretary and Skid Pan Coordinator
