The group offers Minibus guidance to
Associates. We have about a dozen Observers in the group who have passed the IAM Minibus test. The Minibus test is slightly different to the car test in that the examiner asks a few theory questions. These are questions relating to minibus regulations and requirements.
The driving standard required is the same as for the car test but driving with regard to the restrictions that such a vehicle imposes e.g. extra weight when fully loaded and passenger comfort.
If an Associate joins the group wanting to take the Minibus test they are first assigned to a 'regular' Observer. When they have learned what is required for the car test, they then do a few further drives with a Minibus Observer. They are entered for the Minibus test when they are judged to be at the necessary standard. Most of the group's Senior Observers/Area co-ordinators are minibus trained. |
